CROP STABILITY AND GENOTYPE × MEDIUM INTERACTION IN NEW ZONED VARIETIES OF CROPS IN DIFFERENT AGROCLIMATIC CONDITIONS OF TAJIKISTAN

<p>Climate change and increasing variability of agroclimatic factors are recognized as key<br>constraints to the sustainable development of agricultural production in arid and semi-arid regions of<br>Central Asia. Under these conditions, the assessment of adaptability, stability, and productivity of crop<br>varieties acquires particular scientific and practical importance. The objective of this study was to evaluate yield performance, stability, and genotype &times; environment (G&times;E) interaction of new crop varieties<br>across diverse agroecological conditions of the Republic of Tajikistan. Multi-environment trials were<br>conducted over three growing seasons within the network of state variety testing stations representing<br>both irrigated and rainfed conditions. The results demonstrated that several tested varieties significantly<br>outperformed the standard checks in terms of yield. In particular, the cotton variety &ldquo;Chumyazo-166&rdquo;<br>achieved the highest average yield (4.31 t/ha), exceeding the standard by 0.86 t/ha. The wheat variety<br>&ldquo;Farovon&rdquo; produced 4.51 t/ha (+0.88 t/ha), while the maize variety &ldquo;Faiz&rdquo; yielded 6.48 t/ha (+0.96 t/ha).<br>The sweet potato variety &ldquo;Somon&rdquo; reached 54.1 t/ha, surpassing the standard by 8.8 t/ha.</p>
